Spooky Halloween Crafts

Check out our super simple, spooky halloween craft ideas that will keep your kids busy this October half term and provide a fun way for you to decorate your house.

Hanging Black Spider on Web


You will need:

  • Black card or paper

  • Paper plate

  • White string/wool

  • Googly eyes

  • Hole punch / scissors / glue


To make:

  1. Cut out the centre of a paper plate.

  2. Punch some holes around the edge of the paper plate.

  3. Thread white string, or wool, through the holes to create a web.

  4. Draw a spider’s body shape onto black card (or download the templated below) and cut it out, along with four thin strips.

  5. Stick the strips onto the back of the body to make legs.

  6. Stick on the googly eyes and glue the spider onto the web.

 

Cotton Bud Skeleton


You will need:

  • A3 black paper or card

  • White paper

  • Cotton buds

  • Glue / scissors


To Make:

  1. Draw a skeleton head onto white paper (or download template below), cut it out and stick at the top of the black paper.

  2. Colour in the eyes, nose and mouth.

  3. Cut and stick cotton buds, below the head, in the shape of a skeleton body.

 

Cotton Bud Skeleton Hand


You will need:

  • Black card, or paper

  • Cotton Buds

  • Glue / scissors


To make:

  1. Draw round your hand on black paper and cut out.

  2. Cut and stick cotton buds, with craft glue, onto the hand to give an eerie bone effect.

 

Pumpkin and Black Cat Trick or Treat Paper Bags


You will need:

  • White card

  • Coloured card

  • Scissors / glue

  • Colouring pencils / felt tip pens

  • Choose from: glitter, pipe cleaners, foam shapes, sequins


To make:

  1. Print the pumpkin bag or cat template below on white card and cut it out.

  2. Colour the bags and decorate with glitter, foam shapes, or sequins.

  3. Fold along the straight lines. Glue the flaps down.

  4. Cut a long thin handle, from coloured card, and stick it on.

If you want a stronger, more durable bag, you could cut the template out of coloured felt.
