1. Learn To Read With Phonics | Pre Reader Book 1 | Digital Download
Learn To Read With Phonics, Pre-Reader Book One is the essential first step in learning to read. Children are introduced to the 21 consonant sounds, such as c in cat, and 5 vowel sounds, such as o in tot. They learn how to blend these sounds together to read simple three-letter words. With engaging activities, games and over 100 words to practise, this book helps children develop the essential phonic skills they need to begin reading independently. Children should practise the material every day and only move on when the child is completely familiar with every sound covered in the book.
About the reading scheme
This is the first book in our eight-book reading scheme that takes children step by step from learning their first sounds to reading independently. The aim of our scheme is to provide a clear, structured way to teach children to read. Each book gradually introduces sounds in a systematic, logical order, allowing children to learn each one before moving on to the next. In this way, they build secure phonic knowledge and develop confident reading skills.
In every book, children will follow the humorous adventures of Sam, his sister Kim and their friends as they read relatable stories about everyday life, while learning to blend sounds together and read words accurately. They will play games, such as bingo, matching pairs and snap, and use the sentence maker to create sentences of their own, helping them practise and apply their newly acquired reading skills.
Our scheme is designed to build up children’s confidence so that they fall in love with reading. As they master each new sound, they will feel encouraged by their success, grow in self-belief and gain greater motivation to carry on with their reading journey.
This series is suitable for parents teaching children to read before they start school, for classroom use and for home learning. It can also support children who need extra phonics practice, including reluctant readers, children struggling to develop basic phonic skills and children learning English as an additional language.
This is an instant digital download product. After purchase you will receive a link to download your purchase. You will receive pdf files, which you can print out on paper or card and laminate if you choose.
