This pack introduces children to the _ug sound.
Children will read the sentences and add ug to the spaces in some of the words. This gives them practice blending the initial sound with ug to form words such as hug, rug and dug. They will then make a sound book to reinforce the _ug sound. Cut the templates out and place them on top of each other to create a short book, which is stapled together on the left edge. Then, read the little book through with your child over and over again, until they become confident reading each sentence.
This pack is useful for children who are starting their reading journey, as well as children who need extra practice. Repeated practice will help children become more confident at recognising these sounds and enable them to read words more easily and fluently.
